Trance is a natural phenomenon and each one goes through this state several times a day, particularly just before falling off to sleep and just prior to awakening. In this state, the conscious mind hands over control to the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind strives to always keep you alive and out of danger even when you are asleep.
The subconscious mind contains all permanent memory, habits, and programming to generate emotions, intuition, and so on. Intuitive wisdom and creativity are also important functions of the subconscious mind.
Under a controlled environment, the hypnotherapist can help reprogram the subconscious mind with desired suggestions. The suggestions are structured by the client themselves while in the awake state. Therefore, healing/habit change takes place as per the client’s wishes.
